In my last post What exactly is SEO and how, we had discussed on what is SEO, today I will share 10 tips to SEO basis for newbie.
SEO is just a short name for Search Engine Optimization or Search Engine Optimizing, its goal is to teach you how to improve your site and make it more easily tracked, indexed and ranked by search engines. Getting indexed by Google and other search engines could help you drive traffic your site.
You could see it as a process of increasing the number of visitors to a site by ranking high in search results of search engines. The higher your site ranks in the search results, the greater chance your site can be visited by people. The placement of your site in a search is very important, sites in top few pages of search results will gain most traffic toward their sites.
So how to be ranked higher by search engines? Here are 10 Basic SEO Tips for you:
1. Title Tag.
Add keywords within the title tag so that search engine spiders could know what your page is about. The title tag is located right at the top of your document within the head tags.
2. Anchor Text.
Make sure you use the same keywords as anchor text to link to the page from others pages on your site. The more keywords link to a specific page the better. That is why we insert links within our blogs.
3. Make sure title tag is also in the body of the page.
It is very unwise to have keywords in the title tag but are not contained within the body of the page.
4. Avoid same title tag.
Don’t ever use the exact same title tag on every page of your site. Search engine spiders may determine that all your pages are the same, if all your title tags are the same. If this happens, unfortunately, your pages might not get indexed by search engines.
5. Don’t spam Description.
Don’t spam the description or keyword meta tag by stuffing useless keywords or even spend too much time on this tag. As now, the description has become more and more useless to SEO.
6. Quality Links.
Don’t link to link-farms or other search engine unfriendly neighborhoods. A good rule of thumb is if your pages do not contain any words that reflect the content of the site you are linking to, don’t ever link to it. It will break your site rankings in search engines.
7. Do not use doorway pages.
Doorway pages are designed for spiders only, not for humans. You have to know that you site is build for humans, but for search engines.
8. Title tags for text links.
Insert title tag into the HTML of your text link and add weight to the link and the page where the link resides. This is like the alt tag for images.
9. Images Alt Tag.
Describe your images with alt tag. This would help search engines to index images to find your pages and would also help readers who use text only web browsers. I usually do this, and I find it really works.
10. Manually submit your site to search engines.
I recommend that you submit your site to the search engines by yourself. Don’t be laze and don’t use submission service or submission software. Doing this could get your site penalized or even banned.

Great post. When people have a bit of patience and are willing to follow all of the tips mentioned above as well as doing some off page link building, great results in google can be obtained very quickly indeed.
